Nostalgic Return for World Darts
ALEXANDRA PALACE signs a four year deal with PDC for the Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship.
Following the success of the tournament in December 2007 which attracted a 30,000 following, the PDC have decided Alexandra Palace is the ideal venue to stage the world's biggest and richest darts event until at least the 2012 tournament.
"Last year, Alexandra Palace immediately announced itself as the ideal home for the world's greatest darts tournament Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn, we were delighted with the success of the event, and our players, sponsors, broadcasters and fans thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Alexandra Palace and we're looking forward to the next four years."
The News of the World Championship was held at Alexandra Palace in the 1970s, and the PDC marked a hugely successful return of the sport to the venue.
