Photographing Feelings deep:black exhibition
Award winning Community Interest Company deep:black have been working with Haringey Learning Partnership and Park View School to offer a creative approach to emotional wellbeing.
Their work raises awareness and understanding of mental wellbeing by offering a range of creative activities that students, staff, parents and carers can access in order to support themselves and to support the school in creating an emotionally safer and supportive environment for all.
The photographers featured in this exhibition are students from years 8-10 who participated in up to six weekly photography workshops to reflect on their feelings to explore the themes of identity and belonging. Students had access to the school, nature and the wider community areas to make the images.
All the photographers were able to creatively explore their emotional wellbeing as well as learn photographic skills and techniques. During sessions they had the chance to speak and be heard, to express themselves and use their cameras to create thought-provoking, playful and powerful images that reflected their feelings and thoughts.
