The Ice Rink
The Palace, including the ice rink, is closed for improvement works between 24 – 27 November, 2024. The Park and our car parks remain open as normal throughout this time.
The work is part of our charity’s ongoing efforts to care for the Park and Palace, so that they can be enjoyed by all, forever.
Hundreds of thousands of you enjoy our ice rink each year. We have regular skaters aged 3 to 90 years old and cater for every standard imaginable, from first timers all the way up to seasoned pros and national champions. It’s perfect for friends, families, fitness or a day out. Skating has even been described as the closest you can get to the feeling of flying, without leaving the ground! In short, it’s a pretty fun place to be – so come along and have a go!

Book a skate
To book a skate, click the buy tickets button and select your preferred date and session.
Please note:
- All customers having a private lesson must book a public skating ticket on top of their lesson fee, this must be booked online and in advance
- All term-time weekday sessions last 2 hours, excluding the final session which lasts 1.5 hours. All weekend and holiday sessions last 1.5 hours
- Monday 15:30 slots are Super Off Peak and only last 1 hour with a discounted price
- We advise arriving 15 minutes before the start of your session
- All customers who wish to accompany their group inside the rink but not skate must purchase a spectator ticket
- We advise that you pre-book tickets online to avoid disappointment

Is your little one not quite ready to take to the ice alone just yet? Why not purchase one of our skate aids to help! Please note that skating aids are available to purchase online for public sessions on holidays and weekends only. They are not available on the door.
