The competition area will showcase the incredible efforts of cake makers from around the world with hotly contended classes covering floral sugarcraft, celebration, novelty and wedding cakes as well as the ever popular cupcake. Visitors can enjoy the astonishing creations fresh from the judges table and see for themselves the skill behind the exquisitely handcrafted pieces. Each entrant will be competing for coveted awards from the professional judges, led by Cake International’s Chairman of Judges, Brian Taylor. Inspired artistry underpinned by utmost care and skill will be in abundance and is one of the highlights of the show.
Taking inspiration from the competition pieces, visitors can learn some of the techniques of cake decoration for themselves at the show. Under the guidance of cake decorating and baking experts who will each bring their immense skill and passion for their craft, visitors can take part in workshops. There will be regular informal sessions on cake decorating techniques, while the Taste of Sugarcraft mini workshops are the perfect place to learn new or brush up on existing skills. A host of making and taster sessions will be available throughout the show and visitors are invited to roll up their sleeves and have a go. The Cake International and Demonstration Theatres will play host to informative tutorials from professionals in the industry giving attendees helpful advice and ideas for their baking and sugarcraft projects.
Queen of Hearts Couture Cakes will be returning to Cake International with their incredible buttercream displays. The award winning team will be sharing their immense skill in the demonstration theatre and on hand to chat to visitors about their awe-inspiring displays of individually decorated cupcakes and larger tiered creations each depicting beautiful flowers and intricate patterns.
