On 2nd November 1936 the first high definition television service was broadcast from Alexandra Palace. This year, on 2nd November 2016 we are hosting a very special one off event to celebrate this defining moment in broadcast history.

Critically acclaimed comedy troupe Do Not Adjust Your Stage will be bringing their hit show format ‘The Wunderkammer’ to the Palace for a night of improv shows inspired by fascinating Ted-style talks on the history of television. The 6pm speaker will be Dr Hugh Hunt, talking about John Logie Baird’s mechanical monster the ‘Flying Spot’ camera, and the 8.30pm speaker will be Professor Danielle George speaking on the Marconi/EMI electronic inventions in the television technology race.

Included in your ticket for this special evening will be canapés on arrival and an authentic 1930s cocktail for you to enjoy.
