The team at Alexandra Palace are excited to be welcoming you to the BBC Proms in London’s ‘oldest, new theatre’. This performance is particularly special as it will be first performance in Alexandra Palace Theatre since its restoration and because it is taking place before the works are fully complete it will be a unique experience.

During the event there will be staff and volunteers on hand to provide you with information and direction and I would ask that you follow their instruction whilst on the premises so that you have the best experience

Ahead of your visit, it will be useful for you to know that:

• Entrance to the auditorium is via the East Court. A venue map is available here.
• You will be directed to queue for either the stalls or the circle depending on the ticket you have purchased. As this is a sold out performance we will be managing the seating order so that there are no gaps, so you may be asked to move along the rows.
• A bar in the East Court will be open and selling drinks and confectionery. You will be able to pre-order your interval drinks at this bar.
• Due to ongoing works, access to the circle is via stairs only.
• Bathrooms are located inside the East Court at ground level and on the stalls level.
• We encourage you to use public transport; the nearest bus stop is “Alexandra Palace Ice Rink”. Directions can be found here.
• Free parking is available; however all our car parks operate on a first come, first served basis. More information on parking can be found here.

A concert performance of Gilbert & Sullivan’s one-act comic masterpiece Trial By Jury in the magnificent theatre of Alexandra Palace. The Victorian theme continues with music by Sullivan’s contemporaries Stanford, Parry and Coleridge-Taylor, conducted by Jane Glover.

The magnificent theatre at Alexandra Palace originally opened in 1875 – the same year that Gilbert and Sullivan’s one-act operetta Trial by Jury was premiered. In this special ‘Proms at …’ event, Jane Glover conducts a concert performance of this Victorian comic masterpiece in the Palace’s theatre as its ambitious new refurbishment reaches completion. A first half of music by Sullivan’s contemporaries explores that favourite G&S theme of love and marriage.

Alexandra Palace Theatre is undergoing an extensive restoration. This performances will be a rare chance to experience the Theatre before it opens to the public and as construction nears its completion.
