Ralph Vaughan Williams’ epic work from 1910, A Sea Symphony, is the main feature in this concert by leading symphony choir Crouch End Festival Chorus.

It features the poetry of Walt Whitman and was the piece which truly established Vaughan Williams in the world of classical music.

The concert will also feature Gloria by Francis Poulenc. The brilliant and quirky setting of this piece was partly inspired by the composer watching monks playing football.

And rounding off the full programme, supporting CEFC’s commitment to the inclusion of women composers in its concerts, will be Crossing the Bar by American composer Rani Arbo.
