Fragments – Alexandra Palace Young Actors Company

This July the first ever Alexandra Palace Young Actors Company took to the stage for their first ever performance.

The 26 young actors, aged 18-24, performed “Fragments”, a fast-paced examination of human connection and hope for the future amid the challenges of 21st-century London life inside the Palace’s Theatre. Below we reflect on this moment of Ally Pally history, and hear from the cast and director.

The Young Actors Company is part of Alexandra Palace Creative Learning programme, which aims to engage, support and inspire people through culture and the arts.

Company member, Sephora Zola, kept a vlog that gives a unique insight into the “Fragments” experience:

And finally, “Fragments” director Jolley Gosnold: “In only ten short weeks this remarkable group of talented and hard-working actors pulled together a fantastic show – the first of its kind in the history of the Alexandra Palace Theatre. They had a full-house in the evening, and the audience rose to their feet in appreciation.

“It was such a pleasure working with this group, and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank them for their generosity, creativity and sense of playfulness. They really seemed at home in the theatre, and I hope it felt that way for them. I look forward to working with the company again soon, on our next production in early 2023.”
