The Alexandra Palace Young Creatives Network has teamed up with the BBC Academy to create our first-ever podcast series.
This week 45 young people, aged 16-18, headed to the Palace to take part in podcast sessions, led by audio producer John Offord.
Over the course of three days the young creatives delved into the world of podcasts, exploring different styles and picking up techniques and tips on how to develop their own recordings.
In groups of five they then each recorded their own 10 minute podcast episode, learned how to edit audio on Adobe Audition, created artwork, then uploaded and released their podcasts!
We’re delighted that the podcasts, which are centre on topics such as football, travel, friendship, self-growth, film & TV, cancel culture and mental health, are now available to listen to via Spotify and Anchor.
Take a listen for yourselves!
The Creative Learning Team at Ally Pally will be offering more BBC podcasting workshops in the new year to support young people to develop content creation skills, find out about careers in broadcasting and share their own stories – keep an eye out!
The Alexandra Palace Young Creatives Network offers the opportunity for people aged 16 to 24 to participate in a range of projects that take inspiration from culture, the arts and the events programme at Ally Pally.
