After six years as Chief Executive of Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust, Louise Stewart will be leaving the organisation in early 2022 to take up the CEO position at Chester Race Company.
Louise says: “It has been a privilege to have led the organisation since 2015. I’m so proud of what has been achieved during this time. Our team, supporters and funders have put in so much effort to improve how our heritage is cared for and to develop our amazing event and learning programmes to ensure that the Park and Palace contribute positively to the lives of millions of people each year. The charity is stronger and more resilient and I leave it in very capable hands.”
The Trustee Board have asked Emma Dagnes, currently the Deputy Chief Executive, to become Acting Chief Executive on Louise’s departure providing continuity of leadership as the organisation continues to re-build, re-open and re-engage following the significant challenges of the last two years.
Chair of Trustees Cllr Anne Stennett, says: “Louise has served with great vision and skill, overseeing transformational projects, as well as steering the organisation through the uncertainty of the last two years. We wish her every success in her new role and thank her for her lasting contribution to the Park and Palace.
“I’m delighted that Emma Dagnes has agreed to be Acting CEO on Louise’s departure as the Board consider the leadership requirements of Alexandra Palace in the future. Emma has played a vital role in the progress made in recent years and will provide the ambition, expertise, dedication and continuity that is required to take the organisation forwards.”
Emma says: “Alexandra Park and Palace has played a crucial role in the lives of so many people over the last 150 years and it is an honour to have been asked by the Board to lead the organisation as Acting Chief Executive on Louise’s departure. While the pandemic has, and continues, to pose significant challenges, I look forward to working with the team, volunteers, stakeholders and our funders to care for this unique heritage site, as we deliver spectacular experiences for our audiences, visitors and clients, whilst making us more accessible and welcoming to all.”
