In 2022 the BBC celebrates it’s 100th birthday! During this centenary year we’ve loved exploring the amazing story of the BBC’s time at Alexandra Palace, where the broadcaster launched its television service all the way back in 1936…
Throughout the year we’ve been welcoming some of the BBC’s most loved programmes to the Park and Palace. Check out just a few of the highlights below…
The Antiques Roadshow took to the studios, the Park and even our Pub to look as some fascinating (NOT tacky, not in our eyes!) BBC memorabilia:
Fiona admires Del’s car, a Ford Capri Ghia, from Only Fools and Horses.
Join the #AntiquesRoadshow team this Sunday and discover incredible artefacts, celebrating 100 years of the BBC.

They weren’t the only cookery show to make the journey here, Celebrity Masterchef also joined the (afternoon tea) party!
The mighty Strictly were here too, as they dedicated an entire show to the 100th celebrations! Meanwhile, the One Show broadcast Poet Laureate Simon Armitage’s tribute, with backing from the BBC Concert Orchestra who recorded their performance in the Theatre.
AND HERE IT IS! ✨
How can 100 years of the BBC be encapsulated in one magnificent poem?
Please enjoy ‘Transmission Report’ by Simon Armitage and with many faces we all know and love! #TheOneShow #BBC100 @BBCCO pic.twitter.com/3rzvnh9na3

There’s been all that, plus the iconic Later…with Jools Holland, bringing a stunning line-up of artists and performers to the Palace…
