It’s a hot summer’s day, maybe a slightly slower one than normal and a perfect chance to look back on the first half (and a bit) of the year. We’ve had some amazing live gigs and a number of spectacular outdoor performances, and amongst it all there’s one thing that we still can’t quite get over; our beautiful theatre was chosen to host series 60 of the ICONIC (an-over-used-word-but-not-in-this-case) Later…with Jools Holland.
We’re honoured that Jools spared a few minutes to chat to us about what it’s like to perform and record in the Theatre:
A few more memories below. Over to you Jools
Over 30 acts performed on the Theatre floor…

Saturday’s show was our final episode of this series ✨
The outstanding @florencemachine and @jamietmusic both returned, plus we had superb Later debuts from @TheMysterines, @Kamalnw and Deyaz

So happy that I got to go on @BBCLater. Been hoping to get the chance to share my music on his show the whole time I’ve been making albums so this was a very special occasion. Such a joy to hear the others that were on and meet Jools. Feels like a real milestone moment. pic.twitter.com/B2hBVMa1GB
