This Classical Life Live
Jess Gillam is a saxophone player with a difference: a fearless musical explorer whose BBC Radio 3 show This Classical Life takes the music she loves – and the people who make it – and spreads that love nationwide.
Now, This Classical Life: Live! returns to Alexandra Palace Theatre, and it’s going to be a night packed with music for the curious listener. If you’re a classical music fan or just at the start of exploring the world of orchestral music, we hope there will be something you’ll fall in love with!
Joining Jess are Norwegian violin sensation Mari Samuelsen and rock-meets-classical bass guitarist/composer Lauri Porra, plus conductor Anna-Maria Helsing and the full BBC Concert Orchestra. Expect musical passions, good stories and (of course) live music, in a session that’s as likely to include Max Richter and Hannah Peel as Prokofiev and Vivialdi, an evening in which rock meets the baroque. “Good music is good music” says Jess: and she’ll be sharing it with us this evening.
