Red Bull Soapbox Race 22 June 2024: resident and visitor information

Alexandra Park will be playing host to the exhilarating fun of the legendary Red Bull Soapbox Race.

The event will require a number of temporary changes to the roads, park and car parking set-up at the Palace. All the information is below.

PARK ACCESS

To facilitate the event, a section of the Park between Go Ape and Alexandra Palace Way will be closed to the public between Thursday 20 June – Sunday 23 June. Diversion walking routes will be in place. See our map for more information.

The remainder of the Park will be open throughout this time as normal.

ROAD CLOSURE

The section of Alexandra Palace Way from Bedford Road (Ally Pally train station) up to the East Court car park will be closed between Thursday 20 June – Sunday 23 June. See our map for more information.

Station Road and Buckingham Road will be temporary closed for approximately an hour at the end of the event to allow crowds to leave safely. Residents on these roads will be given access as normal.

BUS DIVERSION

The W3 will be diverted between Thursday 20 June and Sunday 23 June. The 184 bus will be on diversion for one hour between 6-7pm on Saturday 22 June. Check your route before you travel.

CAR PARKING

The East Car Park will be closed from Tuesday 18 June – Sunday 23 June. Additionally, all car parks at Alexandra Palace will be closed to the public from Thursday 20 June to Sunday 23 June.

There is no event parking on site at Alexandra Palace so all event attendees will need to use public transport to travel to/from the event.

Limited parking is available for Access ticket/Blue Badge holders in our Grove car park (access via our Muswell Hill entrance only). If you have any queries contact our team via access@alexandrapalace.com
